Week Twenty-Six of School

Blues in the Schools was organized in our school.

Matt and Ben entertained us with a lesson on the history of the blues.

Lots of students...

...filled the gymnasium.

On another day...

...we were entertained by these two gentlemen.

They brought with them many interesting instruments...

Some were handmade...

...while others came from a variety of sources.

Check out the lake in the playground!  Yikes!

Our Dance Showcase tryouts...

...bring out many students from the junior grades.

It's fun for students to come up to either the SmartBoard or the old fashioned blackboard.

We are at alphabetical order.

The underlined words are now in ABC order.

We have been practising our times tables.

Each child gets a turn.

This young lady visited Colombia in South America and she proudly shared her images with her classmates.

The students...

...come up to the blackboard...

...and solve a multiplication question..

Then they place their face...

...in the heart.

They all are good at the zero, one and two times tables.

Zero is easy...the answer will always be zero!

When you multiply by one...

...the answer is always the number you multiplied one by.

We are experts...

...for sure.

She is proud...

...for having solved this two times equation.

She is also proud...

...for the same reason!

Zero times nine equals...

...zero!

More happy faces...

...as we learn the reasoning...

...as to why we multiply.

A handsome mathemagician!

All right.

Too cool.

All done!

All responses are correct.

Mr. Hamer helps run choir.

They love singing and adding percussion to the songs.

Mrs. Hamer brought in...

...yet another puzzle!

They work as a group to solve it.

Looking good!

All done!

Bravo!

We check out our binders...

...which contain all of the work we have done so far this year.

She enjoyed this religion lesson...

...about respect.

She enjoyed this poem...

...with regard to her day of birth.

He likes music...

...where he learns new songs.

She loves...

...her birthday!

They enjoy perusing their efforts from throughout the school year.

She is good...

...at solving math problems.

More music...

...which is appreciated.

Adam and Eve...

...was a valuable lesson in Religion class.

She enjoys problem solving...

...in math.

She loves this social studies activity...

...because her daddy is in the military.

He remembers our veterans as well...

...as this activity shows.

Math fun...

...for this colourful girl.

Halloween math...

...is cool.

Still more respect...

...for those who served.

He's hiding away...

...but he loves music.

He enjoys...

...language activities.

More math fun...

...from the prehistoric age.

Still more singing fun...

...from this previously seen before lad.

Math...

...makes him feel good.

He is proud, for sure.

More Remembrance Day art...

...from him.

He's smart at math...

...and it shows.

We love using the SmartBoard...

...for our science lessons.

This one is on air and water.

More math...

...dealing with...

...multiplication.

Time for research...

...on the chromebooks.

Each child is researching a specific animal.

Why are they all in green?

Oh yes...

...it's the luck of the Irish!

That only means...

...that St. Paddy's Day must be coming soon!

We learned a lot...

...about the life of St. Patrick.

Ask you child...

...what happened to St. Patrick...

...when he was a teenager.

They will be able to tell you...

...some very interesting thoughts...

...about this wonderful man...

...who was born in England but did much of his work spreading the Word of God around Ireland.  I hope to see everyone back in school as soon as we can make it!
