Week Sixteen of School

Our learning commons is prepared for the Grade Two Christmas showcase tomorrow.

Our little reindeer reminds us to try to remember to wear green and red tomorrow.

A lovely message in the main hallway.

Yes, we are into week three of Advent with our pink candle symbolizing Joy.

She likes this book!  I wonder why?

The children have worked hard...

...on many Christmas activities...

...and many Advent activities...

...so they deserve some fun on the chrome books.

Love the glasses Ms. Rhiannon!

Chromebook and puzzle fun.

She's creating a lovely Nativity scene.

She's a crossword whiz kid!

More nativity colouring.

Looking great girls!

Speaking of girls, these lovely lady elves brought our class some candy canes.

Wow!

She is proud of her creation.

As is she.

Love the chocolate decorations around her tree!

Still more X-mas tree creations...

...from our...

Christmas Craft Afternoon...

...held last week.

Look at all that candy!

Each table was loaded with candy of all sorts and colours.

Indeed...

...our class is so colourful!

Some cool aerial views!

Family fun.

Red definitely fits the season well.

Those trees are coming along.

Mom and daughter sharing.

Ms. V and Mrs. C.

We are actually heading backwards in time for this posting of the craft day.

The initial phases.

Peace!

Yummy...

...yummy!

Hold onto that tree!

I bet her tongue is green.

Hers too!

A great smile!

Double those smiles.

The licorice adds a neat touch tot he tree.

All gren.

Grandma and granddaughter fun!

"I'm loving this!" he says.

Some more aerial views...

...of the action at the tables.

Lots of helpers.

Tons of joy.

Too much fun.

I wonder how much candy made to the trees and how much made it to the tummies?

Father and daughter time!

Smile for the camera.

Lovely!

Beautiful.

Awesome.

Remember this picture from last week?

Yummy, yummy, yummy, we've got treats in our tummies!

More family fun.

Wonderful.

Concentration.

Yup, I like that!

Christmas colours...

Our rehearsal...

...for the play tomorrow!

Hey Sparty, waht'cha doing!

Yup, Sparty Cat visited our school.

To visit Mrs. O'Toole's classroom.

Here's the seating for our families for tomorrow's Christmas showcase.
We'll see everyone there dressed in red and green!
All the best, Mr. Hamer

What a fun day we enjoyed at school today.

Every day is a fun day!

It was nice seeing all of the family members come out for our showcase.

The play was wonderful...

...and our class really enjoyed playing the bells for everyone!

Some special photos...

...of a few families...

...who made up the audience...

...for the showcase.

So nice to see so many of you out!

Oops...I must have shook my camera!

Mother and daughters.

Lovely.

Hold her tight!

Mr. Hamer OCT

Time to investigate our homework from last week...the twenty-four Christmas carols
as some of our families in the class come from a variety of backgrounds and cultures.

Jingle Bells...of course!

Walking in a Winter Wonderland.

Santa Claus is Coming to Town.

Joy to the World.

Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer.

O Come All Ye Faithful  (Old Faithful, the geyser in Yellowstone National Park.)

I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas.

O Christmas Tree.

This one is "What Child is This"...note the question mark on the basket.

"We Three Kings" of course.

A deck of cards in a hallway must represent "Deck the Halls".

"I Saw There Ships Come Sailing In" is a lovely carol.

"O Holy Night" is a favourite of many.

Hey!  An alphabet with no "L"...oh, I get it..."The First Noel".

Away in a Manger...yup, that's a "weigh" scale.

Wow!  Twelve dates of December 25th...that can only mean "The Twelve Days of Christmas".

"I Say Mommy Kissing Santa Claus" which is a fun Christmas tune.

That looks like a tool called an awl.  That's a wishbone meaning I want something.  Hey, that saw has lost its' two front teeth.  This can only mean, "All I Want For Christmas is My Two Front Teeth".

The Christmas Song - "Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire".

"It Came Upon a Midnight Clear".

"Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow!"

A knight is asking us to get really quiet..."Silent Night".

"O LIttle Town of Bethlehem".

The Lone Ranger's horse is called Silver and he is wearing bells around his neck...thus..."Silver Bells". Check in later over the weekend with more pictures from this week at school.  Mr. Hamer OCT

Our class...

...was paid...

...a surprise visit...

...from our Kindergarten friends...

...and their teachers...

...during the last week of school...

...before the Christmas Break.

They sang...

...for us...

...a number of...

Christmas songs!

PJ Day!

So colourful.

Happy faces...

...abound.

Lots of accessories!

Some Christmas math work.

Alison, Mr. Hamer's daughter, came in for a visit.

She read an engaging story.

The children were excited.

They followed along...

...as Alison read.

Then it was time...

...for a craft.

We made...

...nutcracker models.

Hard at work cutting out the template pieces.

Hard at work colouring.

An entire row...

...of finished nutcrackers.

Looking good...

...as super sentinels for the class!

Play time.

More poses...

...in PJ's the next day!

Say cheese everyone!

And...they do!

School is so much fun!

"When can we eat our candy canes, Mr. Hamer?"

Two nutcracker creators...

...with their work.

Two craftladies...

...with their completed renditions.

Two happy gals...

...with their men!  Hehehe!

Still two more...

...with their friends.

Two keeners...

...with a keen sense of colour!

Two happy friends...

...with their happy nutcrackers.

Still two more handsome builders...

...with their finished products.

Two sunny classmates...

...with their sunny nutcrackers.

Two more peers...

...with two peer nutcrackers.

And...two more again!

A girl and her stuffy.

She's an angel.

"Check out what I created, Mr. Hamer!"

"Great job!" I say.
Merry Christmas everyone!  Mr. Hamer OCT
