Week Ten of School

While we may be in the new month of...

...November...

...we look back on last week...

...when we held our...

...Halloween Dance-a-Thon.

Many cakes...

...and cupcakes...

...were baked...

...or bought...

...for the cake raffle.

Many students...

...throughout the entire school...

...were able to purchase...

...a number of tickets...

...in order to win...

...some of these delicious treats!

Guess what?

Our class won the cake raffle!

Yes, we raised the most...

...funds...

...out of the entire school.

The children were thrilled to learn this...

...when they came to school...

...this morning.

The treat sure looked yummy!

Yes, yummy in our tummies!

Such an impressive...

...display...

...located out in the hallway...

...near the office.

Trick...

...or treat!.

Yes...

...we love...

...our fun...

...pictures...

...taken during...

...the Dance-a-Thon.

The students...

...were able to utilize...

...a number of props...

...for their picture.

Lots of fun!

Oops...sideways!

Luigi!

A leopard.

Happy Halloween to you!

Trick or treat...

...a witch near her house!

More sideways views...

...as my computer will only post...

...these few images...

...this way!

Looks like everyone...

...had a ton of fun.

Ahh...back to normal.

Nice eyebrows.

Hehehe!

Zombie cheerleaders.

Boo to you!

Too much fun!

The kindergarten children...

...paid us a visit...

...along with their teachers...

...and early child educators.

Some more pics...

...of our costumes...

...with their respective accessories.

Cool face painting.

Too much fun!

Hey!

More kinders are arriving!

Cool costumes...

...in all sizes...

...and colours!

Hello ladies!

It's a family of sharks!

But we're not scared.

No, we're not!

Mrs. Moo Cow Eaton!
Udderly ridiculous!

Mrs. MacDonald and Mrs. Johnson.

Crazy teachers...

...and Educational Assistants.

Mr. Papineau.

A doughnut anyone?
Check in tomorrow for more pics and fun from our class!

We catch up with pics...

...from our Halloween Dance Day...

The lighting effects in the gym.

Our own Luigi...once again!

Line dancing...

Snakes and ladders...

...is fun to play.

Drawing and colouring is fun.

The game continues.

Another cheerleader.

All around the class...

...learning takes place.

A hive of activity.

Building.

Fancy creations.

Oh no!  A power failure!

Our class has lots of south-facing windows...

...so we make do.

Without power...

...we still create.

Fun beds...

...for LOL dolls.

Nice friends.

Puzzle time.

In the sunlit window.

Looking good girls.

These lovely ladies met with some staff members this week to teach us how to create a "talking stick" to be used in classroom "talking circles."

The sticks.

The teachers get down to action.

Using the glue guns...

...to attach the various items to the talking stick.

Then it was time...

...to add some beads.

Mr. Hamer's talking stick.

A new banner in the classroom...

...tells us that it is time...

..to think of remembering...

...those who served...

...so we could be free.

We shared a story about poppies.

Indeed, a poppy is to remember.

John and Kathy...

...from Rag'n'Bone Puppet Theatre...

...visited our choir...

...to review the story they wrote.

Entitled, "The Flying Canoe."

Yes, our choir will be performing live on stage with Rag'n'Bone November 26th at Centrepointe Theatre.  What a thrill!

Back in class we have already created our background...

...for our poppies.  Check in later on to see the finished product.

A little visitor entered our classroom after school...

...along with two former students.

Say hello to Dottie.  (She is actually related to my dog, Lilly!)

We had two special guests visit our class this week on "Bring Your Child to Work Day!"
This is Olivia, the daughter of one of my colleagues.

She is helping the students with their math.

Olivia's friend, Lauren, also came along.

She is helping some of the young lads.

The lesson was on two-digit subtraction.

Some peers help each other as well...

...which is greatly appreciated by this teacher.

More poppies are growing in the classroom...

...as these lads add to the numbers.

Olivia assists a small group.

As does Lauren.

They will both make excellent teachers...

...should they decide to enter the profession...

...at some point down the road.

Math is fun...

...especially if you have some great teachers!

Here's the lesson!

Thanks so much, Lauren and Olivia!  It was great meeting you!
Have a great weekend everyone!
