Week Eight of School

Week eight of school finds Mr. Hamer's puppy, Lilly visiting the classroom after school hours.

She's smiling in the early morning light.

She's great at calendar from last week.

As is he.

Love the hat!

Indoor recess time...

...offers the chance to play.

Tubs of toys...

...come out of the woodwork.

Snakes and Ladders.

Great construction toys...

...allow for creativity.

She uses indoor recess time to advance in her work!  Bravo!

Female builders as well.

Straws...

...turn into structures.

Lots of cool cars.

Large number cubes.

A great looking tower.

It's coming along.

You need a solid base.

Here he is live with a picture of himself with his sisters.

She's standing in front of her picture!

It's a-climbing!

The panda loves to climb up the building's side.

Awesome!

So much fun.

A great level of creativity.

We're proud...

...of our work.

We put a lot...

...of effort into what we do.

We are creative...

...and we are colourful.

We love to share...

...our hard work.

Mr. Hamer places our pages...

On the "My Creation" wall.

Anyone can look at our work.

Anyone can read it.

Anyone can be inspired...

...by what we create...

...and what we write.

These pages...

...will be published...

...into a class book.

We know that our parents...

...will be proud of us.

We know that Mr. Hamer is.

Lots of fun!

We love to build...

...and work together.

While we do like going out for recess...

...we don't mind if it is rainy out.

Mr. Hamer was busy Monday and Tuesday night.  On Monday he met a very famous person..."Dr. Ruth.  Yes!  Dr. Ruth who has had radio and TV shows over the past five decades.  Mr. Hamer knows her son and she was visiting Ottawa from New York City where a special movie was aired about her life.  Dr. Ruth is 91 years old and Mr. Hamer tells us that she has the same amount of energy today that she had 50 years ago!
On Tuesday evening, Mr. Hamer visited his sister who is quite ill at the moment.  We say prayers for her at carpet in the morning.  So...here it is...Wednesday evening and Mr. Hamer just arrived home a short while ago to create the blog entry for the week so far.
Have a great evening everyone!  Mr. Hamer OCT

Some more views from last week...

...finds our young friend conducting calendar.

Each morning we offer up prayers for our families, friends and the greater world at large.

Keep those donations coming in for the Halloween Dance!

Speaking of Halloween...

...she's got the right idea.

She asked us to guess who she is...

...and now we know!

Love the message...

...from a great young lady.

Who's wearing this shirt?

Now we know again!

The girl team hard at work.

Lots of sharing.

We learned about hail and how it is formed.

Mr. Hamer must be reading a story.

Yes he is...about how a young dinosaur overcame acts of bullying from a larger dinosaur.

He's offering a suggestion for the younger one.

Later we were in the learning commons...

...with Ms. Hawley.

We will miss her as she will be the librarian at another school starting next week.

Nice story.

Lots of books to choose from!

Checking in some new books for the week.

Lounging around.

A great diary.

Making our selections.

Cool!

Fast!

Magazines are fun to read as well.

Ah...there's the full cover!

Pretty colours.

Right on task.

Total focus.

We love Clifford.

Cozy chairs...

...make reading fun.

They sure do.

Still at it!

Winter time fun!

More diaries.

Cool seating.

Dinorella!

A great trio of young gentlemen.

A cozy place...

...to curl up and read.

Astro-physics!

Neat-o!

Great smile.

Lego Land.

Too much fun in the learning commons!
Have a great evening everyone.
Mr. Hamer OCT

This past week we also attended mass at the church.

It was our Thanksgiving mass.

This was the beautiful display at our School Board's "Christian Community Day" celebrated on the Friday before Thanksgiving when the children enjoyed a PD Day.

Our students are very creative with their colouring.

We learned of the beauty of butterflies.

Each student coloured their own butterfly.

They were added to the classroom wall.

The children are showing us where to find them!

The butterflies add colour to the room.

Super Sam the Sentence Snake loves them as well.

Lilly, Mr. Hamer's puppy dog coloured one of the butterflies...

...as did Super Sam.

With the modelling...

...by Lilly and Super Sam...

...the children were able to...

...try their best at colouring.

The students were so creative...

...in their colour combinations...

...on the actual butterfly...

...and in the background...

...as well as the border.

We learned that we are flying off into a new school year...

...along with our butterflies!

Our spelling words for the test Monday.

This week we learned how many students were born in each month.

The students enjoyed coming up to the board and marking a tally beside their month of birth.

We then went on to make a bar graph...which we will showcase next week on the blog.

Our class just before the morning bell.

When I say, "All Eyes on Me!"...

...the students fold their arms and say...

"To Hear and See!"

This is how Mr. Hamer gets their attention when he wishes to speak to the group as a whole.  Check in next week to see pics from our science experiment and to view more of the students' work.  Don't forget to keep those donations coming in for the Cake Raffle for our Halloween Dance!  All the best, Mr. Hamer OCT
